That Fire Within [Personal]

I was lying awake in bed last night (for the 5th night in a row.. thanks insomnia!) and I had a thought (well lots of them since my brain wouldn’t shut up and let me sleep)… I was thinking about creativity, inspiration and what drives each of us to find our voice, to sing and be heard by the masses. In a sea of people shouting I feel like it’s so easy to get lost, to get swayed in different directions and to be filled with sense of confusion or smallness (ok maybe that’s just me…) This drive that we all posses is like a fire inside us....

So the spice is 1 today, and I somehow I can barely come to terms with the fact that a whole year has already passed by.. she’s not a baby baby.. but of course she’s still MY baby. Laszlo and I still stop and stare and look at her say “wow” “she’s really ours” or I’ll hear him say “wow.. she’s like a little human being” that always makes us laugh.. just realizing how unique she really is, that she’s her very own person, but came from us. Family Photos

I love looking through our family photos, when Amina was teeny tiny and so brand new… when Marco was brown all over and you couldn’t tell his face from his bum because of all the fur… and of course photos of just the 2 of us before the 2 of them came into our lives. My First Roll OF Color Medium Format Film!

They found it! After waiting a few weeks (Henry’s) found my first roll of 120 medium format film. I had no clue what to expect… and I’m not thrilled with the results, but it’s pushing me to try again. I should have overexposed the film to get more pastel-like colors ( the look I want to achieve ) … and I’m not sure if that’s why there’s a green tinge to these shots. Snow Day!

I love the change in season, from hot to cool…. and even freezing! I love it when everything is covered in a blanket of white, and if you look at the snow at dusk by streetlight it sparkles. New Beginnings New Adventures

Things have been incredibly busy around here as it’s now January 21, and I’m still wrapping up projects from 2010. Miss Paprika

Well our little spice is just a week shy of 7 months old. What 7 months?? How in the world did it happen already… I remember wishing she would get bigger… bigger so I can see her smile.. bigger so I can hear her laugh.. bigger so I can squeeze her chunky-ness. Now that she’s bigger I just want her to stay small, and sort of miss it when she was teeny tiny. It’s exciting though, watching her discover so much, learn so many new things. Time, it passes us so quickly when we’re doing what we love, when we’re having a good time… or when it’s summer out and there never seems to be enough hot days for us to get our fill of. (Speaking of which… how in the world is it August already, and I don’t even have a tan??!! Def need to get out a bit more and enjoy the summer before it’s over!) 2 months 1 week 5 days…

As of yesterday.. as of today she`s 2 months 1 week and 6 days old. One day does makes a difference, every day is so different with her. My baby girl never ceases to amaze me. She`s growing and changing so much, I want to remember it all. Every smile, giggle and wink. So we take photos, lots of photos! You can never have to many. She makes me so happy! I know she won`t stay little for long, and I want to have a lot of photos to look back on. Canada Day was perfect, more like Family Day for us. We spent the day walking along the lake in Oakville, eating ice cream (sharing...
