Stacey and Derek knew they wanted to have a Trash The Dress Session, and I’m sooo glad they chose to go ahead with it even though we had to be up at 5:30am! The beach gets crowded early so we had to have the near middle of the night wake-up call to get to see it empty… I can’t believe I was actually awake and energetic (it’s the camera, it’s magical really).
The sky was overcast and cloudy so we didn’t get to see the sun peeking out until later on during the session. It did make for some interesting photos though:
Have I mentioned how lucky I am that I get to photograph such fabulous and and awesomely good looking couples in the most beautiful locations?
These palm trees were just outside the resort, it looks like they’re in the jungle!
It’s so clear to see how much they both adore each other, and I felt so lucky to be a witness to their love.
It was starting to get really warm so a dip in the ocean was a must. Stacey dress was dirty from the wedding day, and as expected the ocean water did a great job cleaning it up!
So a Trash The Dress session is a great way to get started on the cleaning of your dress.
p.s.
I read this quote, and as I was reading it I couldn’t help but think of Stacey and Derek, I think it really resonates with the love they have for each other:
“Know Thyself, Know Thyself More Deeply”
by D.H. Lawrence
“Go deeper than love, for the soul has greater depths,
love is like the grass, but the heart is deep wild rock
molten, yet dense and permanent.
Go down to your deep old heart, and lose sight of yourself.
And lose sight of me, the me whom you turbulently loved.
Let us lose sight of ourselves, and break the mirrors.
For the fierce curve of our lives is moving again to the depths
out of sight, in the deep living heart.”
